McMurry Takes on Hardin Simmons: Sat. Nov. 7th This Saturday, the McMurry football team plans to do something they haven’t done since 1963—beat cross-town rival, Hardin Simmons. Since HSU reinstated their football program, McMurry has never won a game against them. This year, McMurry plans to put an end to HSU’s nineteen-game winning streak. Head Coach, Hal Mumme, views this game as the most important of the season, saying, “The players all realize the importance of the rivalry. The opportunity to win a rivalry game is an extra incentive.” “This game means a lot,” said Jake Mullin, Quarterback. “We can’t finish with a winning record if we don’t win this one, which was one of our goals at the beginning of the year. Also, a win against them would mean a lot to the McMurry community. All of our focus is on this game right now.” story by: Rachel Smith (student) Trustees Approve Additional Funding for Capital Campaaign The McMurry University Board of Trustees approved $10.75 million in capital projects as part of the University’s “Shaping the Future” Capital Campaign during their fall meeting on Oct. 16.
